Each of us is called to our faith in different ways just as each of us is called to give to our parishes in different ministries. The lector ministry calls to those passionate about proclaiming the Word of God.
When we bring the living Word of God to the assembly, we should do it in hope of helping our fellow parishioners experience the proclaimed Word as a powerful prayer and celebration. To do this, our lector ministers should be:

It was 1975 and a new assistant pastor had come to IC, Father Donald Neilson. A core of the present-day choir was introduced to some of the musical treasures of the Church, Gregorian Chant and Renaissance Polyphony.
Sister Donna Smith continued this sacred music tradition and though choir members have come and gone, we continue to sing these treasures to this day.
The Mass does not belong to us, but to God.
~ Benedict XVI
If you love to sing beautiful sacred music, stop by after the 8:30 Mass and speak to Margaret.
The “10:15 Choir” is the musical ministry for the 10:15 AM Sunday Mass and other Church events such as special feast Days and other Celebrations, as needed. Music is the Ministry to accompany and highlight the parts of the Mass for the greater glory of God.
In our Parish we have five distinct Choirs who present music in their various forms. The 10:15 AM Sunday Mass is commonly called the Family Mass because the Music attempts to lift the hearts and spirits of all generations in prayer and worship to God. We were the first Guitar Mass in the Archdiocese formed more than 50 years ago in 1966. It has lasted and stood the test of time because of the devotion and commitment of its members and the musical instruments that have accompanied them, throughout that time.
We practice on Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM. Our only requirement of members is that they attend practice and be present to give praise to God through song, at the 10:15 AM Sunday Mass. Contact the Director, Bryan Rego (778-593-9829), or Greg Hanna (778-551-1627), if you would like to join us.
The “IC 12 Noon Choir” is the music ministry for the 12 noon Sunday Mass at Immaculate Conception Parish.
Our choir was first organized by some members of the "Couples for Christ" during the time of Fr. Lutherbach. We started singing in 1996 as an all Filipino group serving the 4:00 PM Sunday Mass and is currently assigned at 12:00 noon. The group later grew on to include members from different nationalities and from all ages.
We have beautiful and challenging selection of music. We sing to praise and glorify God, inspire the congregation and touch people’s souls. We sing in weddings, funerals and other Church events. We grace special feast days, fund raisings, processions honoring saints' feast day and the much awaited “Salubong” and “Simbang Gabi”.
We practice every Sunday morning at 10:00AM and usually have extra practice during Christmas and Lenten seasons. We encourage the members to attend practice and be present at the 12 noon Sunday Mass.
We are constantly looking for choir members. If you enjoy serving through singing and are interested in joining our choir, please contact the Director, Lu Faron (604-760-0060), or Chi Medrano (604-596-6508) or email [email protected]
